Worried about SSC exam, girl committed sucide in mira road

MUMBAI: On a day when lakhs of students appeared for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination that began on Tuesday, a Mira Road Std X student committed suicide just an hour before her paper.

Zainab Shaikh, a resident of Jai Vijay Nagar near Silver Park, was to appear for her Urdu exam on Tuesday. Around 9 am, she had breakfast with her mother Shabnam (38) and younger brother Shahzad (14). By 10 am, she went to her bedroom get ready.

When Zainab did not step out of the bedroom for over 15 minutes, her mother, worried that the girl would not be able to make it to her exam centre at Don Bosco School in Mira Road, knocked on the door, but didn't get a response. A domestic help employed by the Shaikhs called out to Zainab, but the girl didn't answer.

A worried Shabnam then called the police. Policemen rushed to the Shaikh residence and broke open the door to Zainab's bedroom. They found her hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta. No suicide note was found.

In her statement to the police, Shabnam, a single mother, said her daughter was depressed for the last 15 days. Zainab, who was good in her studies, was worried about the exam and had stayed up late on Sunday to study.

Apple unveils the iPad 2 on march 2

Everybody knows that Apple is launching the iPad 2 today. But nobody really knows what it is. We’ll be at the live event writing about the announcement as it comes down at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (pictured yesterday) in San Francisco.
The announcement takes place at 10 am and happens just a half hour before Nintendo chief executive Satoru Iwata takes the stage next door at the Game Developers Conference in the Moscone Center. The fact that Apple chose to unveil the iPad 2 right on top of the Nintendo announcement tells you a lot about who the competition is. The iPad 2 is sure to be a cool gaming device, competing head to head with Nintendo’s market-leading game device. Nintendo will launch its new 3DS handheld — which can display glasses-free stereoscopic 3D — on March 27.
The original iPad blew the tablet market wide open last year, selling nearly 15 million units in 2010 after debuting in April. But the iPad 2 will launch into a much different environment, with lots of competition from the Motorola Xoom and other Android 3.0 tablet computers. More rivals are coming every day, from RIM’s PlayBook to Hewlett-Packard with its upcoming WebOS tablet.

Goregaon on wikipedia

Goregaon (Marathi: गोरेगाव pronounced as Goregam or Goregav) is the locality situated at the north of Mumbai . It is a major railway station on theMumbai suburban railway on theWestern Railway (India) railway line.
Bracketed on either side of the railway line by the Western Express Highway and the Linking Road, it was primarily a middle-class residential neighbourhood; however, the area is now turning out to be a wealthy suburb. The famous cinema making spots such as Filmistanand Film City are located here. The Dindoshi Bus Depot is located in Goregaon East and the Goregaon Bus Station is located at Goregaon West, right outside the Goregaon station. Goregaon Bus Depot is little far and near Oshiwara Bus Depot.
Up to the late 1970s, the suburb was sparsely populated with the main residential localities springing up in Nagars (like Unnat Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Motilal Nagar, Bangur Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Piramal Nagar, Mahesh Nagar) on the West and Wadis (like Pandurang wadi) and Jaiprakash Nagar on the East.
The Eastern boundary of the suburb was effectively the Western Express Highway after which the picturesque Aarey Milk Colony offered its forested charm to the region.
However, the housing boom of the 80s saw the locality spread its territory as well as increase its population density. On the East, newer areas such asDindoshi, Gokuldham, Yashodham, Saibaba Complex, Film City Road, etc. and on the West, Bangur Nagar, Lokhandwala Complex (now considered a separate suburb) and Link Road were the development hubs. Despite the increase in population, rail and road infrastructure was the same and hence became stretched.........To read more click here

can democracy be the best form of government

india is a free country and we have the chance to elect our own person to rule this country.

Being democratic is also some times not good for every one and people start making mis-use of it.

Why on this earth the special powers are mostly used not for anything which is good and healthy?

You can walk in the middle of the street and the bikes can go on the foot path, ofcourse when no police man is watching.

The police will do what? will fine a hundred rupees or take Rs. 50 which goes to his pocket and allow the biker to go away.

The rules are there, but no one will or want to apply them strictly. Then why are the rules ment for.

Just scrap every law which is not helping us and let people live as they want. But this means ppl will not be in their control and this means the poor or the weaker sections of society has to suffer.

Think on this and react now before it gets too late.
