Goregaon on wikipedia

Goregaon (Marathi: गोरेगाव pronounced as Goregam or Goregav) is the locality situated at the north of Mumbai . It is a major railway station on theMumbai suburban railway on theWestern Railway (India) railway line.
Bracketed on either side of the railway line by the Western Express Highway and the Linking Road, it was primarily a middle-class residential neighbourhood; however, the area is now turning out to be a wealthy suburb. The famous cinema making spots such as Filmistanand Film City are located here. The Dindoshi Bus Depot is located in Goregaon East and the Goregaon Bus Station is located at Goregaon West, right outside the Goregaon station. Goregaon Bus Depot is little far and near Oshiwara Bus Depot.
Up to the late 1970s, the suburb was sparsely populated with the main residential localities springing up in Nagars (like Unnat Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Motilal Nagar, Bangur Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Siddharth Nagar, Piramal Nagar, Mahesh Nagar) on the West and Wadis (like Pandurang wadi) and Jaiprakash Nagar on the East.
The Eastern boundary of the suburb was effectively the Western Express Highway after which the picturesque Aarey Milk Colony offered its forested charm to the region.
However, the housing boom of the 80s saw the locality spread its territory as well as increase its population density. On the East, newer areas such asDindoshi, Gokuldham, Yashodham, Saibaba Complex, Film City Road, etc. and on the West, Bangur Nagar, Lokhandwala Complex (now considered a separate suburb) and Link Road were the development hubs. Despite the increase in population, rail and road infrastructure was the same and hence became stretched.........To read more click here

can democracy be the best form of government

india is a free country and we have the chance to elect our own person to rule this country.

Being democratic is also some times not good for every one and people start making mis-use of it.

Why on this earth the special powers are mostly used not for anything which is good and healthy?

You can walk in the middle of the street and the bikes can go on the foot path, ofcourse when no police man is watching.

The police will do what? will fine a hundred rupees or take Rs. 50 which goes to his pocket and allow the biker to go away.

The rules are there, but no one will or want to apply them strictly. Then why are the rules ment for.

Just scrap every law which is not helping us and let people live as they want. But this means ppl will not be in their control and this means the poor or the weaker sections of society has to suffer.

Think on this and react now before it gets too late.

Goregaon sports club

With the increase in materialism and the need for excellence, the people around the world now look forward for world class products, services, facilities and hospitality. Rapidly changing life styles, particularly in the Metros, have increased the consciousness about health, mental peace and spirituality amongst the urban population. People now look forward and spend time for achieving the aforesaid objectives and engage themselves in sports and leisure activities morethan ever. Traditionally, our country has been pioner in the areas of health and hospitality & this tradition is very well blended with the western concept of materialism at Goregaon Sports Club.

Goregaon traffic signals

DELHI HAS woken up just now, but Goregaon has been having such traffic penalty drives day in and day out on a very regular basis. There’s a problem with Mumbai’s roads. They are narrow and very peculiar and cannot be widened beyond a particular point as the city is an island surrounded by sea.

Given this limitation, there is no scope of adding more roads to the existing network. This is compounded by the problem of a continuous flow of cars into the city — the ones registered here and the ones that keep coming from other states. Given these peculiarities, I would say the Mumbai traffic department has been doing a good job so far.

The traffic problem in Mumbai must be seen in a comprehensive way and at a macro level. Given the lack of road space, another problem is of increasing population. Hawkers occupy footpaths, leaving no space for pedestrians, who then spill on to roads, hampering traffic movement.

This is one of the major problems that makes an average person think that Mumbai’s traffic has lost its discipline. It is not the case. An average Mumbai driver today is equally disciplined as he or she was earlier, but the crowd is so dense and the space so less that he has nowhere to go and runs a high risk of meeting with an accident.

The latest transport statistics, released March 2007, reveal that the number of vehicles has now touched 15 lakh. But has the city’s land grown? If one keeps adding vehicles like this, it is obvious that it will give an impression of chaos. The traffic police, with a force of less than 2,500 personnel, have been fining traffic violators and have earned money in crores. What more one can expect?

Mumbai fire brigade on a work

The Service was expected to focus on fighting fires, and the law constrained what they could do. Since then the role of the Fire Service has changed a great deal. As a result, under the new Act, Fire and rescue Authorities now have a range of statutory duties to:-Promote Fire Safety; andTo prepare for:fighting fires and protecting people and property from fires;rescuing people from Road Traffic Accidents; anddealing with other specific emergencies, such as flooding or terrorist attack which are set out by Statutory Order and can be amended in line with how the role of the Service may change in the future. In addition, all Fire and Rescue authorities will be able to do other things to respond to the particular needs of their communities and the risks they face.
The Act achieves this through:ensuring that Fire and Rescue authorities can do things that are not specifically set out in the Act but which will help them meet their statutory duties;giving authorities powers to prepare properly for other risks to life and the environment - for example they can buy equipment and train and deploy staff to undertake activities that they judge to pose a risk to life or the environment in their area; and allowing authorities, where they have capacity, to use staff and equipment they believe appropriate. This new framework of powers and duties will equip Fire and rescue authorities to meet the challenges of the 21st century. It puts prevention on an equal footing with intervention and enables individual Fire and Rescue authorities, for the first time, to decide in consultation with their communities how and where to deploy their resources. The Act therefore provides a stronger basis for Fire and Rescue authorities ability to respond to the range of risks set out in their Integrated Risk Management Plans
The Act recognizes the wider role of the Service now plays and provides the flexibility to adapt to how the Service may change in the future.

Twin foetuses were saved by laser op in jaslok

Operation Is First Of Its Kind In India

Mumbai: When Surat-based professional Yunus Ashraf found out his wife Tabussum was carrying twins, he read every health issue on identical pairs. Little did the couple expect one of the severest and rare complications, the twinto-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), to affect their unborn children.
But fortunately for the Ashrafs, their twins became the first foetuses to undergo a laser correction for TTTS in India. On November 23, Tabussum (27) was wheeled into an operation theatre in Jaslok Hospital where doctors, using a foetoscope and laser rods, disconnected blood vessels joining the 20-week-old foetuses. The condition had so affected them that while one had too rapid growth, the other was starved of blood and nutrients. A fortnight after their surgical in-womb separation, both seem to be thriving. Foetal surgery, the most challenging and developing frontier of medicine, seems to have certainly arrived in India.
Thirteen weeks into her pregnancy, Tabassum was told there was a complication in her pregnancy as she was carrying identical twins who shared the placenta and many blood vessels branching out from the umbilical cord. After another five weeks, she was told one foetus had more fluid around it and more blood supply, while the other was almost starving. “Local doctors told us to terminate the pregnancy or face a high chance of miscarriage. But we did not want to give up. So we brought her to Jaslok Hospital,” said Yunus.
Doctors at Jaslok Hospital diagnosed Tabassum was suffering from TTTS. They asked the couple to go to a foetal medicine centre in the UK, one of the 10-odd centres across the world that offers treatment for the syndrome. “But the couple insisted on having the surgery here itself,” said Dr Chander Lulla, a radiology consultant in Jaslok Hospital who specialises in foetal medicine.
Doctors from Jaslok and one from Bangalore performed the laser surgery to disconnect blood vessels between the two. “The baby getting more blood (recipient) was developing a cardiac problem as it had alot of blood to pump. The other (donor) was almost malnourished and had no urinary bladder,” said Dr Sudeshna Ray, Jaslok gynaecologist. Doctors pushed in a two-millimeter-wide foetoscope in the womb to transmit images. “Through it we inserted the laser fibre to burn the shared blood vessels. By the next day, the donor was producing urine,” said Dr Lulla.
“Disconnecting shared blood vessels is ideal but more prevalent in US and UK. Obstreticians suggest termination of pregnancies, as patients have economic constraints. There is no surety the babies will survive,” said Dr Sameer Dikshit, foetal medicine consultant at BSES Hospital, Andheri.
Tabassum is normal. “She will deliver in April. The latest ultrasound revealed the donor baby was moving—not noticed before,” said Yunus.
A GRIP ON THE TWIN-TO-TWIN TRANSFUSION SYNDROME
It is a serious disorder that occurs in identical twins who share a placenta
It occurs when there is a connection in the two babies’ blood vessels
One baby (called the recipient) receives more blood flow, while the other (the donor) gets too little
The donor twin has slow growth and poor urinary output. Urine from the baby is the source of amniotic fluid, so there is little or no amniotic fluid for this twin
The recipient twin becomes overloaded with blood, putting a strain on the baby’s heart forcing it to pump more, which could lead to heart failure. This baby has too much amniotic fluid due to higher production of urine The condition occurs in about 15% of identical twins

Learn top 7 best lecture skills

As a Goregaon journalist i learnt a best to give a speech which are as fallows
a1. Well prepared speech
Includes understanding the audience, familiar with the themes and content, to collect material and information, preparing speeches, appropriate exercise and so on.
2. Picking the best speakers
Excellent speakers include the following conditions: (1) sufficient authority; (2) the speaker has strong voice abilities and skills: (3) the enthusiasm of the speaker; (4) the speaker with the intellect and wisdom; ( 5)the speaker’s manner
3. The use of oratory art
Including the art of opening and the end, the art of argument, art of citing, art to counter, humorous art, inspired art, audio art, expressions’ art, movements and so on. Through the use of a variety of lectures’ art so that speech possesses two forces: the logic power and artistic strength.
4. What is a good use of space speech
The so-called address space means a place for the scope of the speaker where he or she was located as well as the distance between the audience and so on. Speakers were located among the audience; attention is easier to influx is ideal. For example, when at meeting, the President usually among the conference table’s top, because it is the most likely place where the attention of those who gathered to attend.
Conversely, if the President is among the conference table, then what the proceedings of the Conference will become? I am afraid that those who will attend, the attention is undisciplined, and there is the feeling of endless and tedious? So let your attention among the audience easy to converge, not only can increase the audience's concern for the speech, even with enhanced authority of the speaker a sense of reliability results.
5. Posture
Posture of the lecturer will give the audience an impression, for example, the impression or the timid dignified impression. Although the individual's personality and daily habits of this impact is quite huge, but generally speaking there is still convenient position, the so-called "relaxed posture." To let the body relax, is not to over-stretch hand. Excessive tension will not only show awkward rigid posture, but also for the tongue movements can also cause adverse effects.
One know-how is to open your feet with the same width with your shoulder. Make the throughout body steady. Another know-how is to find ways to spread and reduce the restrictions on the physical tension. For example, one hand into pockets, or hand touched table, or holding a microphone and so on.
6. Line of sight
In front of the public to speak, which also means the need to endure full view of attention. Of course, not every audience will be reported in good faith on your perspective. However, you still can not ignore the audience's perspective, avoiding the audience's attention. Especially when you approach the microphone and stand next to the mass, that moment, audience's attention sometimes even make you feel tingling.
To overcome the pressure of the sight. The secre is to speak on one hand and find good and gentle person from the audience voting for their own vision. And to ignore those cold eyes. In addition, the sight of your own to invest in some strong "nod" to show approval, that also to carry out the consolidation of confidence in the speech.
7. The clothing and hair
Clothing will also give the audience a variety of impressions. In particular, the man from the East has always liked to be dressed in a gray or blue range of apparel which will inevitably give the impression of rigidity boring. In comfortable occasions, may wear a a little bit fancy clothes to attend. However, if in a formal occasion, in general, still dark suits, men's dinner clothes without tail, as well as the tuxedo are appropriate. Second, the hair can also create all sorts of images. Long hair and shaved head contain their own strong images, while the length of the temple is also considered as the characterization of personal preference
